Meet some of our permanent residents.
All of our dogs go to new homes whenever practical but sadly that is not possible for them all. Whatever the reason, dogs that cannot be rehomed remain with us to be cared for and to enjoy life for as long as possible.

Bonnie was a stray and so little is known about her early life. She is too frightened of the world to be rehomed.
Brodie had been used by a puppy-farm for breeding until she arrived at Lizzie's Barn. Without ever having known the outside world she remains too nervous for rehoming. Update: sadly Brodie recently passed away.
Buddy had meningitis as a young pup. The illness caused deafness and some brain-damage that has left Buddy with the mental age of a very young, but happy, puppy.
Emily arrived with a broken jaw and other injuries caused by an abusive owner. The physical scars have healed but the mental scars remain.
Connor has a pancreas disorder which requires regular medication costing about £12 a week, plus a special diet. With the medication he is fit and well. Lady has a deformed face which doesn't affect her enjoyment of life and also has some behavioural problems.
Miles is a very fearful dog. While his confidence has grown at our sanctuary he has not lost his fear of strangers.
Oh-so was rescued from a banned breeder. Left to his own devices as a young dog with many other dogs, he has been unable to adjust and is not suitable for a normal home.
